Alice Fox has been growing a few square metres of flax (Linum usitatissimum) on her allotment in West Yorkshire since 2017, each year learning a little more about the various processes and impact of variation in growing and retting conditions. She has used the resulting fibre in her work during that time, alongside her exploration of a range of allotment-sourced plant fibres and plant-based colours.
