075-Neat Finishes Without an Overlocker

An overlocker is a wonderful tool but it's far from essential for beautifully finished garments. In this beginner-friendly workshop, we'll explore a variety of seam finishing techniques that deliver neat, durable results using nothing more than a standard sewing machine or a needle and thread. We'll cover the humble zigzag stitch, French seams, flat-felled seams, and the couture technique of hand overcasting, discussing when and why to use each method depending on your fabric and garment type. You'll leave with a handy reference sample of every technique we practise, giving you a lasting resource to refer back to on all your future dressmaking projects. All materials and full instructions will be provided in your workshop kit This is an early morning workshop which will finish as the show opens for the day.
